Nikon D1

10 years have gone by since the official announcement of the Nikon D1. Nikon's first Pro digital camera. Its good to see that Nikon is still on top with their D3X. Maybe in the next few years we'll see greater leaps in camera technology. 50 mega pixels before another 10 years? Its definitely doable. I'm sure Nikon has higher resolution cameras being tested in the field now. We don't know about them because its top secret. The cameras are usually blacked out and the CF card doors are sealed. That keeps the files from being "accidently" uploaded to the web for camera geeks to view the EXIF. In the next few years it will be interesting to see how far cameras are going to advance. We already know that most digital cameras now are able to take great pictures and print big enlargements. I think before long the average user won't care about the high resolution because it will only mean larger files and more computer processing. Its going to be a game of constant upgrade for both computers and cameras always outdating each other. If you don't want to play the game, buy an 8 x 10 and shoot like a real photographer.
