Happy New Year_2011

Happy New Year!! I'm excited about many new things in my life. One of which is my new apartment in Long Beach and love it! I've been wanting to make the move for a long time and I finally did it this weekend. Since I hang out in Long Beach all the time, I figured I should just move here. I'm looking forward to riding my bicycle around instead of driving, running on the beach and meeting new people. 

Part of my plan this year is to continue to streamline my workflow and minimize clutter in my life. Right now I'm trying to eliminate as many computer wires, charging wires and external hard drive wires from my desk. Its ridiculous how many wires are needed nowadays. Charging wires, speaker wires, different USB cables to charge my personal/work cell are just a few I deal with daily. Not to mention the charging cables in my truck, the wired headsets I use and the cables for my backup hard drives. 

My first step to eliminating the wires today was buying the Apple Magic Trackpad. Its awesome! Clicking, scrolling and swiping is really cool. I can navigate onscreen faster than using a mouse and most importantly, its wireless. Using a mouse is old school and it wears out the surface of my desk. I also went back to using my Apple Wireless Keyboard. That's 2 wires down, many more to go. 

Lastly, I'm looking forward to furnishing my new apartment. I have many ideas about the furniture and TV I'm going to buy. I also need to either find a really cool desk or have a custom one made. If anyone has ideas on cool home furnishings let me know.
